According to the teaching subject I've learned in my university, I can see that there are many things to do in teaching children. it means that the teacher will need more activities to encourage students in learning.

In the warming up session, the teacher is required to make his children feel comfortable, fun and relax. but he have to keep students, bring the students, or introduce students to the material we will teach. the teacher can give them games, song or other activities.

if the warming up session is run well so, the teacher will more easily in presenting his material. the material is intended to children learning English as second language, therefore teacher should give material step by step, teacher gives enough material in every single English lesson he has. when presenting his material, teacher should relax and be friendly with the children. it is so difficult to do especially for me. I think I need some confidence to make me success in teaching. beside that, the teacher should modeling his students using text, picture or something that make the children easily understand the lesson. the other important things is about the exercise. teacher can add some exercise during the presentation.

The next is about join construction of the field. students need to practices their skill. in this session students are allowed having discussion with their friend. the teacher may ask them to make a group consist of some students and to do an assignment. the teacher takes a big role here. he has to supervise and guide his students in doing their assignment. After this session end the teacher can give his students a individual progress test and close the lesson with review.

procedure text

Procedure is a text type that gives the reader some instruction about the way to make something. The writer must give the instruction in order of event with a clear and simple command. There are three parts of procedure text.

1. you can write the goal or target that you set in writing the text.

2. Write the things that we need related to the article we will write.

3. Write the steps orderly.

The language feature:

1. use of imperative form ( V1 + S)

2. temporal conjunction, e.g. First, then, etc

Text Example:

How to make a sunny egg

Do the following instruction to get a delicious sunny egg.

Ingredients:

1. an egg

2. salt

3. Onion

4. cooking/edible oil, or margarine

steps

1. Cook the edible oil, for about three minute

2. break the egg and place it into the frying pan

3. add a little salt on the egg

4. chop the onion and put it into the yellow part of the egg

5. After cooked, you can serve this sunny egg with a plate of rice

Teaching English to children

English is the main part of the world. This is an important communication device that will bring us around the world. How it can be? English is mostly used in most of big countries that have big influence in the global economic.

Indonesia is a developing country that still face many problems need to apply this language in their children education curriculum. English is not popular to the Indonesian. Most of them do not aware that English is very important for their future. Based on my experience as a student in Indonesian school, I can see that there are many Indonesian learners afraid of studying English.

Nowadays, government has determined English as the main things to learn. When I was sitting in the elementary school there is no English material as we can found now. This can be a good progress for the Indonesia’s education system.

Learning is much better in the young age. A man was born with a natural ability in learning. Since people born, they get a brain that regulates all part of their body. People also have an intelligence that brings them to be the perfect creature have ever made by God.

In learning language, people naturally have Language Acquisition device, such as eyes, ears, mouth and of course their brain. People are learning their mother tongue when they involved in their society. How is about learning the second language? People will be more effectively learning second language, in this case English in the early age. In the early age, a man is still has a fresh brain, just like a blank paper, on that paper we can write any thing on it.

There will be difficult to teach English to children. Teacher have to master special skill in attract the kids attention. There are some tips to teach English to the students:

Manage the students.
An early age students still has a simple opinion about something. If they see colorful things, they will think that it is a toys although actually it is a dangerous things. It is important for the teacher to maintain and supervise students. In the managing a child teacher should be better used a persuasive method. Ignore to give them instruction with an anger voice.

Win the students attention
Teacher may use some additional material such as picture, song or game. This will be more interesting for children to learn with playing rather than give them the material directly.

Be patient
Teaching children is not easy as we teach a teenager. Teacher needs a good strategy to send our lesson to the students. Teacher can start by encourage students in the warming up and please be patient in facing the child behavior.

Recount text.

This is kind of writing that used to tell our past experience. Recount is used when we write our diary, news or may be article you will post to a blogger. Recount consists of three parts. There are orientation, sequence of event and reorientation

Recount begin with orientation that inform the reader about the doer in the event, what happened, the date and place. This parts is used to give the reader a general information about what we have wrote.

The second part is the sequence of event. We have to write a recount text chronologically based on the fact happened. You have to write recount in past time. Beside that you will always need to add some temporal conjunction to make your article written well.

The last parts you have to apply is reorientation. You can summarize the event and give your personal comment on your writing text.

Example of a recount:

A Trip to Bali

Last week, I and my family had a tour to Bali. We went to that beautiful island by a plane. During the journey we slept on the plane. The plane is take off from Soekarno-Hatta airport at 06.00 a.m and we arrived there for about 09.00 a.m. Although it just three days, it was very nice.

First day in Bali, we reserved in a big luxurious hotel. We enjoy a beautiful scenery with a nice lunch. When the sun almost going down, We went to Sanur beach and enjoy a very beautiful sunset.

The next day, we enjoyed Kuta beach which is as beauty as sanur beach. There are so many foreign tourist so sometimes I practiced my English with them. I thought they like to visit Bali. After visiting Kuta, we went back to the hotel to take a rest. On the next morning, we went home.

This would be my lovely holiday because I and my family rarely have a vacation in a sane time. I enjoy the tour very much.

Actually every one must have that things in their deep heart. This is love that will make the world run in peace. Why it can be happened?because love are about.........

A person will do anything for something he likes or he/she will do something that he/she likes. If each people all over the world like to live together in this lovely land called earth, There will be no more war fighting for land,oil or anything else.

Own
Own in a love means that each people are owning each other. It means that they live in a social life. It is impossible for a man to live without others help.

Vast
You will receive vast beneficial effect of having your love. You will get peace, friends even a date and other things that make you happy.

Encourage

People will be encouraged to doing something well to their family, friends and other if there are so much love in their heart.

Those are all about love. It just my opinion. I have thinking about it last night and just post it today.

Flood in Solo

Solo, the spirit of Java, is actually a city that rarely get a natural disaster in a big scale. The reality happened on the December last year make all the Solo's settler and its surrounding shock.

According to ANTARA news, Flood swept through nine areas in the Central Java town of Solo, forcing 26,720 people to flee their homes to safer ground on Wednesday. (http://www.antara.co.id/en/arc/2007/12/26/flood-hits-solo-26-720-people-flee/).

The flood is encountered in many district such as, Jagalan, Ngoresan, and pasar kliwon beside that there are two suburb of Solo that also suffering flood. There are Solo Baru and Sukoharjo.

The flood hapenned because of the continuous rain that begin in the Tuesday morning until Wednesday morning so Bengawan Solo, the biggest river in this town, was overflowed.

Learning English as a second language

Nowadays English is very important to master. As we can see in the real life situation, Indonesian are required to have English skill at least the basic English. English becomes important because of its usage that is as an international language. Many of Indonesian are not able to have an activities outside Indonesia -for example touring abroad- because most of Indonesian have a simple life. They do not have enough money to go abroad. But English is still important for them.

English is not only used outside Indonesia. We can find English everywhere because it is not only spoken but also written. All the modern devices that are imported from the other country must be used English as the general user guide, for example a computer,a mobilephone, a television,etc. It will be an advantage if people master English. As the result, they will know how to use those devices maximally.

Here there are some tips to learn English as second language:

1. motivate yourself.
2. I have ever heard a wise word “ you are what you think, if you think you can, you will success, if you think you cannot, you will fail”. Please be confident when learning english. Although I see that many Indonesian learner is afraid of learning English but don't be doubt to learn it.
3. Try to love English
4. the simple mindset that we have to apply in learning English is liking English. You can start by learning English from music. You may hear an English song and please pay attention to the lyric. I am sure that you will like it.
5. Learn with your friends
6. practice your English with your friends, family even foreign tourist coming to your country. For alternative choice, you can chat with another person using English in Internet. You can also practice your English by yourself
7. Watching English movies
8. Especially America, England, Australia because those country have different pronunciation of each words that we have to learn.

those are some tips from me. I think it just a little things than easily you can do. So don't be worry to try it. Banzai.............
